| | I like to take this opportunity to let you know Efren, and your mother and friends I want you to know that we are praying for you and I was very happy that doing our Freedom March in Lansing you were represented by so many loving and caring people. Met wonderful people from TIME, people from Grand Rapids, Detroit and all over. Thanks to Alma Zavale and Maria Enriquez and son for all their help and hospitality shown to this Freedom March organization. Walter Swift , a recently exonerated former prisoner who was released after serving 27 years of incarceration, spoke at the event and discussed his struggle to prove his innocence. One member of the Lansing TIME Committee spoke at the event on Efrén's behalf, and a member of the Detroit TIME Committee was interviewed by WLNX-TV 6. Also Representatives from the Innocence Project: Professor Maria L. Mitchell, Amnesty International, Peace Education Center Mr. Rico , ACLU Representative from Lansing and other organizations were also in attendance and heartfelt thank you to all of them for supporting this event. Just being there gives us all the strength needed to move on in what you believe is right and what you need to do to have this right come true. It takes the voices of many people to be heard. We are in this all together. Although the March is over, we are planning to find other ways and means for the public to be informed about so many wrongful convictions here in Michigan and other states. We are hoping also for our son Dan that his appeal will bring justice to him. Letters are being written on your behalf to the Governor of Michigan and requests forwarded to other friends to do the same. I hope this will be your year to regain your freedom and to be with your loved ones again. Sincerely and thanks to all of you. Antonio S. Armijo and Ursula Barbara Armijo Director of the 2009 Michigan Freedom March for the Wrongfully Convicted held on June 27 2009 in 18 States Across our Country
